I’d hate to hear what he’d say if he was trying to scare us.

Ha, ha. What they mean is that the federal government is going bankrupt if they can not raise taxes! It’s really simple. Since Medicare and Social Security is near bankrupt (2017 last estimate) the federal government MUST find a new revenue source to fill the gap. For instance the Public Option. With that Medicare could be integrated thus delaying the collapse of that Socialist system or even merging the two.
Basically, they NEED more of your money! Health Care is 1/6th of the GDP. So why not go after that? Governments are like corporations. It’s capitalism whether the socialists like it or not. Governments are always trying to expand so that they can do more for the people or grow in power. In order to grow they need income. That income can only come from TAXES or services provided. Since the government can’t provide any real services that produce a real product, profit’s can never be realized. Perhaps in fascism? So to increase government you must increase taxes.
The goal here is money and power, nothing more.
No one wants to talk about Medicare or Social Security. It’s a career killer. These two programs count for more than 30% of the governments annual revenue. They must be expanded or killed. So if your are in your 50’s, don’t count on the government giving you back YOUR money!
