Governor Kasich has proposed a budget for the next two years to fund the functions of Ohio’s government as well as altering the formula for funding Ohio’s schools. Every parent and taxpayer needs to know what is being proposed. This budget suggests contentious changes in how the state raises revenue. Opponents in both parties voice concern that lowering taxes on income only to raise the sales tax while adding new taxes on business and energy production is not the panacea suggested in the Governor’s State of the State address.  RSVP to reserve your seat for this timely session that will affect your family budget.

Join state legislators Lou Terhar, John Becker and Jonathan Dever as they discuss several budget ideas proposed by the Governor including a 1/2 percent increase in the state sales tax, changes to the commercial activity tax, higher taxes on oil and gas extraction and facing Ohio’s looming obligation to Medicaid which added 450,000 adults to the roles last year.

Princeton School Board member Steve Moore joins with other concerned education officials to explain the financial effect this will have on Ohio districts and highlight the region’s winners and losers in education funding.

Immediately following the opening segment on education, our state legislators take center stage with details, commentary and serious discussion of the Governor’s budget as well as their thoughts on changes that will protect the taxpayers while still growing Ohio’s economy and providing equitable funding for the public schools.
