Statehouse politicians may get another chance next week to advance Obamacare in Ohio. One possibility is Democrats proposing an amendment to the budget that includes Medicaid expansion. If this happens, only 11 Republicans would be needed to reintroduce the measure.
- At least one legislator complains of not receiving enough calls from those who oppose the issue.
- President Obama won Ohio in 2012 by 166,277 votes. If 75% of Medicaid recipients self-identify as Democrats and hundreds of thousands new enrollees are added here, how will a conservative candidate ever win in America’s most key swing state?
- Once more we find ourselves in the fight of our lives. This issue has ramifications for Ohio and all of America. Will you be able to say you did all you could at this critical moment?
We must deliver the clear message that we will support the Reps who stand strong against the federal government takeover of healthcare in Ohio. We must also make it clear that we will support credible primary challenges against any Reps who vote to accept or advance Medicaid expansion.
Our promise to primary Reps is sincere. Our strong statewide network consists of tens of thousands of grassroots individuals. We have almost a year to identify serious candidates, secure funding, and organize in Rep districts before the next primary. Doing so is well within our capacity and our commitment to bring forth principled leadership in the state of Ohio.
Please help us say “NO” to dependency, debt, and the federal government takeover of healthcare in our state. Call and respectfully ask these State Reps to say “NO” to Medicaid/Obamacare expansion in Ohio.

“C’mon, there’s all kinds of legislative maneuvers that go on.You get something out. You get a piece of what you want. You keep it alive. You move it in the other body. You expand it out. You get it into conference committee. It’s just a long process.” Ohio Governor John Kasich
